Forum
In January 2001 our company organised the forum:
"Greek
Franchises in Europe and the Balkans:
Developments, perspectives and financing opportunities"
The main
reason for organising the forum was that Greek franchises
are facing new challenges arising from:
- the united European
market and the new legal framework (Block Exemption
Regulation 2790/1999) that is in force since last
June, and
- the natural economic
hinterland of the Balkans and the Black Sea, and
the opportunities for development that it offers
to Greek companies as well as the risks that it
involves.
More than 90 participants
were discussing the following
issues:
- International franchising:
Means, Requirements, Problems of international cooperation
and ways of dealing with them;
- The new European
Union Regulation (Block Exemption Regulation 2790/1999)
and its effect on the operation of Greek franchises;
- Institutional financing
opportunities for setting up franchises in East
European countries;
- The Greek experience
in international franchising.
